Meet Jarrett:
Jarrett Davis is a researcher and advocate in the international development sector, with a focus on the rights of children and other vulnerable people groups. Over the past 15 years, he has designed and evaluated evidence-based research and programming for children who have experienced sexual exploitation and other forms of violence. Most of his work has developed in post-colonial settings, often at the intersection of race, class, gender, and sexuality. These unique perspectives guide his work, placing the lived experiences of children and vulnerable people at the forefront of research outcomes.
Jarrett believes that data needs to be accessible and easily understandable to enable authentic human-centered communication between the worlds of programming and policy. He conducts sociological research to provide insights that can inform policy decisions and promote social change.
Short Bio:
Jarrett is a researcher and consultant focusing on gender, vulnerability, and human identity. For over a decade, he has conducted research with children and uniquely vulnerable groups in Southeast Asia. His work often addresses the intersection of race, class, gender, and sexuality. The issues he works on are complex and essential, and his research sits at the intersection of these topics.
He has extensive experience researching street-involved children (those who work or live on the streets), sexual abuse and exploitation, human trafficking, and child development. His passion for these topics has led him to publish numerous articles and research papers on these critical issues. Many of these publications can be found in the library section of his website.
In addition to his professional work, Jarrett is committed to sharing his personal stories, experiences, and ideas. He hopes this website will serve as a platform for him to share and discuss issues and topics he is passionate about and connect with others who share his passion for creating a safer and more inclusive world—especially for children and vulnerable communities. In the coming months, he plans to develop this site further and share some of his unpublished technical and personal projects.
His work has taken him all over Southeast Asia and the world, where he has collaborated with several organizations and communities to advance the rights and well-being of children and marginalized groups.
